VELVEETA AFTERNOON 16 mm., colour, 24 minutes, 1992.
A young, hip urban woman, taking a break from the city, stays at a small motel run by an older woman, Martha, who spends her days listening to radio talk shows and following soap opera plots, stealing sexual items from her guests to “destroy the Devil”, an act bordering on fetishism. An exploration of the ambiguous nature of memory and truth, as personal revelations and prejudices slyly slip through banter about soap opera plots and daily musings.
